ANPI has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician - Mechanic. The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be instrumental in maintaining the safe and reliable running of the plants.

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the building and assembling of machines or mechanical components
  • Lead the inspection of machines, fans, pumps, belts etc. and trouble shoot to discover functionality issues
  • Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
  • Perform thorough preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems
  • Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, service and repair general equipment, including boilers, heat exchangers, gear reducers, v-belts, elevator and conveyors, cranes, pumps, mixers, couplers and tractors.
  • Perform all basic Mechanics’ skills.
  • Use various hand tools (pipe wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, hacksaw, chain tongs, reamers, pipe cutters, chain fall, rigging etc.) to complete work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Change advance style filters/strainers in process equipment (oil, air, water, etc.)
  • Ability to complete a full rebuild on pumps
  • May operate mobile equipment such as: Forklifts, cranes, and boom trucks
  • Undertake other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

This position requires a large portion of time in and around operating equipment manufacturing hazardous chemicals.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
  • Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator and able to obtain a satisfactory fit test for respirators.
  • Eyesight (or corrected eyesight) that is adequate to view computer monitors and numbers and color coding.
  • Must have good hearing to be able to hear signals, horns, phones, or various operating sounds of the Plant.
  • ANPI promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre‑employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by applicable state laws.

 Education and Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate and document the following, but not limited to:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Four or more years of experience in a similar business is preferred
  • Valid Arizona Driver License
  • Demonstrate ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while also passing a written assessment. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
